Rev. Kevin Phillips, Senior Pastor

Kevin was born in Cowpens, South Carolina and served in the United States Marine Corps prior to entering vocational ministry. In obedience to God’s call, Kevin entered the pastorate in 1993 and since that time has served on staff at numerous Baptist churches. Kevin is both a skilled preacher and caring pastor. He exhibits a strong expository preaching style while also maintaining the heart of a shepherd. Kevin is joined in ministry by his wife Myra and their five children.

Renato has served on the Eastern Hills staff since 2006. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Renato attended East Texas Baptist University and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to his favorite pianist, Jennifer. The Costas were married in 2006 and have a beautiful baby girl. The Costas serve EHBC by leading worship and by coordinating mission trips to Brazil, where Renato serves as an English-Portuguese translator. Renato enjoys Brazilian soccer and Formula One racing.

Brandon studied youth ministry at Charleston Southern University and has had a passion and calling for ministry since his freshman year in high school. He is from Indian Trail, North Carolina and was raised at Eastern Hills. His wife Cassidy King Mullis was also raised at Eastern Hills and has a passion for missions and writing. Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife and playing sports.

| Marlene Connell, Administrative Assistant |

Marlene has served in her position at Eastern Hills since 1987. The ministerial staff members are keenly aware that Marlene is the one that truly runs the church office. She is married to Sherrill and has two married children and several grandchildren that give her much joy. Marlene attends Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC, where she previously served as Minister to Music.
